Stunned With Gen. VI

Wow. That is the only thing I'm thinking now that I've looked into the upcoming Pokemon games, Pokemon X and Y. These artists just aren't trying anymore. It's either this or they have simply just run out of ideas, the way they did with Pokemon Black and White (Litwick is a freaking candle, Vanillish is an ice cream cone, etc.). While they make a huge deal out of the 3D graphics (which aren't even good), the Pokemon themselves don't even deserve the title of Pokemon. Take a look.

Yes. A Sword. One of the newest revealed Pokemon, with two so called "forms". You can clearly see that the forms are just the sword in it's sheath, and the sword unsheathed.

These are some more of the X and Y Pokemon that have been revealed. Looking at them for a while, you can see there's not much design to most of them. The first 3 to the left in the second row are your starter choices. The last 2 in the second row are the featured legendaries. The lower left corner shows the newest evolution(or Eeveelution, as some call it of Eevee. This is Sylveon, classified as the new Fairy type(effective against Dragons). But the Pokemon that probably catches everyone's attention is the one in the upper left corner. Yup, thats...

The newest form of Mewtwo, a cross between the original Mew and Mewtwo. This was announced a while ago, but still not much is known about it yet. While the new Mewtwo has me sort of excited (hopefully it's good), the rest of the Pokemon shown don't. It seems that The Pokemon Company has nothing else to do except create lazy basic Pokemon designs, stick them in the game, and give a new form or evolution to a popular Pokemon and use it as a sales driver. Examining the Pokemon, you can vaguely or clearly see a Pokemon design the has been used before (I spy Oshowatt, Butterfree, Shinx, Horsea, Taillow.) Either way, I'll be sure to pick up this game when it is released this October. I'll provide a full review of the game, along with summaries on the most notable Pokemon in the game. I'll be back later this week with a review of the classic, " Pokemon Yellow". Thanks for reading!
